Course Overview
Course: ‘Sexual and Reproductive Rights Free from Racism’.
This course aims to offer a complete conceptual framework on sexuality, health and sexual and reproductive rights, from an anti-racist perspective and aimed at ensuring that young people have the theoretical knowledge as well as the necessary tools and resources to be able to take ownership of their own processes. In addition, be able to live their sexuality in a healthier and more positive way.
General objective:
Delve into the dissemination of sexual and reproductive rights with an anti-racist approach and with a special orientation of political agency from the perspectives of young people.
Specific objectives:
- Understand sexuality in a complete and comprehensive way, from the biological, psychological, social and spiritual dimensions.
- Know and recognize sexual and reproductive rights.
- Understand sexual health as a state of general well-being and relate it to pleasure.
- Obtain information, resources and tools to prevent unwanted situations.
- Celebrate diversity in all its forms.
- Understand the physical and emotional changes that occur during puberty.
- Demystify taboos, myths and false beliefs around sexuality.
- Obtain truthful and updated information, appropriate for age and from an approach based on human rights and sexual rights.
- Know the myths of romantic love and its interference in the way of establishing relationships.
- Identify the different forms of sexist violence, violence within the couple and sexual violence.
- Apply the intersectional perspective to understand how discrimination mechanisms work based on the individual reality of each person.
- Know cyber violence, LGTBIQA+phobia, bullying and the devastating consequences of all this violence.
- Place self-love as the basis of all positive, healthy and well-treated relationships.
- Delve into the concept of emotional responsibility and reflect on its importance in all types of relationships.
- Understand the importance of questioning the prevailing relational system to promote freedom of decision and the creation of tailored relationships.
